Family Photos

My sister-in-law came to stay with us for a couple of weeks. She is an AMAZING photographer and captured our lives while she was here. Here's a sampling of her work. Log onto her website (amyfree.com) for more!

"Moms Gone Wild!!" Glacier Nat'l Park

On Saturday myself and a group of my YMCA buddies woke up early for the best adventure I've had in over a year.  Six of us drove up to Glacier for a 11.3 mile hike.  Seven miles into our hike was a beautiful chalet where we spotted a grizzly w/ her 2 cubs!
We shot from the hip: started our day later than we should, drove up to a parking lot that was supposedly 'already full', hitch-hiked back to our car, drank beer and ate smoked salmon back at the car, found a fabulous restaurant still serving dinner at 10 pm, etc. etc.  Our 'unplanned adventure' could not have turned out any better.  The next morning we slept in, sat in the sun, took a jet-ski trip across flathead lake, and then headed for home around 3 pm.  Mark did an excellent job watching the girls and I came back excited and refreshed.  I forgot how much I need God's country to feel human!

When you have 2 like mine you may ask your self on occasion (or daily in my case) 'why have kids?'  That's a good question and in the following blogs I'd like to present a few reason for having high-maintenance beauties like mine.

NUMBER 1:  You can experience the world through their eyes.
There is nothing like seeing a water-park for the first time through your child's eyes.  It's hilarious really.  She's so exhausted, yet she cannot stop the thrill of it all.  She also demanded to go on the big water-slide (pictures included) only to be told by the life-guard she was too short....  Hmmmm, little did he know she was only TWO YEARS OLD!!  She was upset by this set-back but decided she would just rule the kiddy slide instead.  What a great day for all of us!!

ANTI-facebook

After visits from Grunky and Gumpy, Pops and K-ma, and Amy I decided we needed some way to keep folks up to date on our family activities.  Since we are ANTI-facebook you will have to follow us on our new blog.  I'll post funny stories and videos when I can and your comments are always appreciated!

So, here we go.  Here's a picture of my beauties loving on each other.  Check out the first few pages of Amy's website (www.amyfree.com) as they are chalked full of pictures of my girls.  More to come...
